I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of

your letter of the 24th. of March enclosing copies of corres-

-pondence with the Consulting Engineers for the British

Section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway on the subject of a

contract made locally for impofed explosives.

In reply I am to forward the enclosed copy

of a minute by the Chief Resident Engineer on the subject and

to inform you that His Excellency the Governor is addressing the

Secretary of State in the matter.
